Morena Baccarin on The Nerdist

More Whedon love on BBC America's The Nerdist! This week, Firefly's Morena Baccarin was a guest, and there was lots of Whedon and Firefly talk. Plus, at the end of the episode, during the audience questions portion, a guy asked the hosts, "What are the criteria for a good superhero movie?" to which one of the hosts responded, "Joss Whedon." :-)

Some concept art for a couple new Marvel Movies

As I emerged from a paper induced exile, I found a few little Marvel-y goodies. First, the link below goes to a couple pictures of some concept art for Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Second, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced he'll be staying on through Phase 2

Eliza Dushku on the Nerdist

Eliza Dushku was one of the guests on Chris Hardwick's talkshow (spun off from his popular podcast) The Nerdist on BBC America last night. As a result, there was a lot of Joss Whedon talk, including an anecdote in which Chis tells how he used to live across the street from Joss and once found his cat dead in the road!! The episode is re-airing this Friday night (May 10) at 1:00 in the morning, so you can set your DVRs to record it if you'd like to see it.

This is when Dushku and Tahmoh Penikett recorded an episode of The Nerdist podcast.
(It's #105 in case you want to look it up.)

Solo and Reynolds

Dare I ask: Who's the "better" scoundrel/outlaw? Who would win in a fight? Who's more handsome?

My choice: Better scoundrel: Solo, because he's more impulsive, more wild and brash! I mean look who he works for! Jabba the Hutt! Sure, Mal worked for people like Nishka, but he immediately regretted it and it was clear he was more concerned with helping out others when push came to shove! Han initially didn't believe in the rebellion or really anything! And it took him a long time to consider completely giving up the rogue life! He probably would have left Luke and the rebels to die if Chewie had not talked him into going back!

Better fighter: Tough pick but I'd say Mal! Solo may be younger and more agile and perhaps more underhanded, but Mal has more experience and wisdom, and is a skilled military fighter as seen from his service in the Battle of Serenity. And just look at how miraculously survived his injuries in Out of Gas and his fight with the Operative! Though to be honest, I can't see these guys ever getting in a fight, they'd have too much respect for each other.

More handsome: Really tough to choose! I dunno! This one's a draw I guess!

What do y'all think?

Good video interview with Hollywood Reporter "Joss Whedon on 'Iron Man,' 'Avengers 2' and ABC's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' Pilot"  It has a little hint for those that know the comic books.

Latest S.H.I.E.L.D. Buzz

Whedon talks a little about the name change and the pilot. There is nothing to revealing here, but as usual Whedon's wit shines through.
